Jumping Seat O/F and Flat Candidate
Jumping Seat O/F and Flat Candidate
I have wanted to ride horses for as long as I can remember: my first ride was on a pony at a pumpkin patch when I was 2 years old. The picture of me with the widest smile on my face is hanging on my bedroom wall. After a couple of summer camps spent tacking, hoof picking and cleaning stalls before and after my rides, I convinced my parents to let me take lessons as my eighth birthday present. I have never stopped riding and shoveling poop since.Â
I started showing at age 10 at a local show, earning my first blue ribbon on my half leased horse Tresero. My parents called it "beginners' luck" but it gave me the confidence to keep going through all the bad rounds, and the great ones that came after. Attending school full time, going to the barn almost every day and being dependent on the limited time of two working parents hasn't always been easy but riding and caring for the horses are my priority. I struggled with finding the right four-legged companion to take me where I wanted to go in this sport and I had to try different trainers before I fell in love with the jumper discipline. After several years of equitation classes, I joined a jumper barn and found my path in this sport. During 2022 I qualified and competed in the Desert Holiday Zone 10 Championship in Thermal Desert Park at the 1.10m and the Las Vegas Nationals in the 1.15m. At my current barn, under the expert training of Simon and Karli Schroeder, I have ended my sophomore year being successful in the 1.20m.
My goal for this year is to do my first 1.30m and to be competitive in my division. I also hope to jump my first 1.40 by the end of my high school career. Although I don't compete in the equitation, I am prepared and excited to do that in collage. I am a committed rider and try my best on any horse in any circumstance. Through the last 2 years I have ridden several different horses and improved in the sport I love most. My dream is to show around the world. Especially Italy, the country which both my parents come from and my second home.
