I am currently a junior at West Ranch High School in Santa Clarita, California, where I was born and raised. While maintaining top grades in a highly competitive academic environment, I’ve dedicated most of my childhood and teenage years to my passion for riding horses. I am fortunate enough to have my parents and sister support me in this exceptional sport.
I am part of National Honors Society and California Scholarship Federation. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA through my freshman and sophomore year of high school, and this year I am taking various college and honors classes to strengthen my scholastic success. I have represented my school in the Interscholastic Equestrian League in my area and was reserve champion in the varsity devision in 2023. Here is a link to my transcript information: Transcript
When I am not studying or riding I love to spend time in my garden growing vegetables and playing with my dog.
Equestrian sports are demanding and challenging but also incredibly rewarding. I enjoy the special bond I have with my horse, Jamaica, and the connection I feel with any horse I ride. Being at an equitation/jumper barn I’ve practiced on many different horses, but have only shown a limited number due to the fact that shows are very expensive and it is important for my family to budget wisely. While my parents have paid for most of the expenses, I started working at age 15 to help with purchasing my tack and show clothes. Being an equestrian has taught me responsibility, determination and resilience. It has also pushed me to be accountable and show up for myself. I have had to make choices and prioritize what is important in my life, even if it has meant giving up some fun activities, trips or sleeping in late on weekends. It is all well worth it. I have the discipline and work ethic to succeed both academically and as part of the equestrian team of the university I will attend starting in the fall of 2025.
